Seadoo Speedster Rpm Gauge Not Working. hey guys, i got my twin engine 1998 sportster 1800 out on the water for the first time ever this past saturday. runs great but the rpm gauge and the speedometer does not work. the max speed i can get is 4500 rpm. Out of the hole it will rev up to 5,500 and then slide back to 4500. The fuel gauge and the other gauge cluster does. There's a couple of fuse blocks to check;. yes, seems likely the gauge(s) are not working since they have power and ground. As far as the speedo pickup goes,. the right tach doesn't work but when i move that signal wire to the left tach and the left tach works fine. so i was out on the boat today, pretty rough out there, and about half way through my trip, my starboard rpm. the most likely reasons why your rpm gauge is not working correctly are a broken/faulty gauge itself, a faulty.
